Three Ways To Improve Your Intelligent Automation Platform

By Anthony Macciola – The need to keep teams connected and business processes moving spurred an urgency to implement new intelligent automation platforms to accommodate the switch to work from home (WFH). According to a recent survey conducted by Sapio Research on behalf of ABBYY, 98% of IT decision-makers said they made digital transformation investments to improve WFH with the most common technologies being intelligent document processing (IDP) and process automation technologies, such as process and task mining.
The speed at which people are able to pivot today is improving. Proofs of concept that normally took nine months to a year are being installed within three weeks. McKinsey Company affirmed this trend in an October 2020 survey that claimed the share of digital or digitally enabled products in companies’ portfolios accelerated by as many as seven years.
There were several reasons for compressing implementation timelines. On-premises solutions needed to be moved to the cloud so that remote employees could access files, systems and applications from home. Workers who used to print documents and files in the office and walk them to a colleague’s desk could no longer do so. Paper documents had to be digitized and automatically inputted into software applications.
Additionally, the distributed workforce shined a light on disparate and broken processes that caused delays and errors, frustrating customers and employees alike. Likewise, customers needed to access services and customer service representatives in a socially distanced environment. Read On:
