This proving to be a more difficult process than originally expected.  After finally getting a wildcard SSL certificate for the new domain and applying it there were numerous other public DNS and firewall issues to be resolved.  Worst though is that the redirect plugin to redirect links to the old site are not working and producing a lot of 404 errors.  Will work on getting those fixed.

You might ask, why not publish on a hosted site and not bother with all these self-hosting obstacles.  If you know me, you do not have to ask that question.  The years long flirtation with running WordPress with a Microsoft SQL back-end is over.  Back to MySQL, for now.
