For many of us, the phrase \u201cartificial intelligence\u201d fell apart in this way a long time ago. <strong>AI<\/strong> is everywhere in tech right now, said to be powering everything from your TV to your toothbrush, but never have the words themselves meant less.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.cyberconservices.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/robot-3385181__340.jpg?resize=250%2C145\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-31309\" width=\"250\" height=\"145\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It shouldn\u2019t be this way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the phrase \u201cartificial intelligence\u201d is unquestionably, undoubtedly misused, the technology is doing more than ever \u2014 for both good and bad. It\u2019s being deployed in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2018\/8\/13\/17670156\/deepmind-ai-eye-disease-doctor-moorfields\">health care<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2018\/4\/12\/17229150\/pentagon-project-maven-ai-google-war-military\">warfare<\/a>; it\u2019s helping people\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2018\/8\/31\/17777008\/artificial-intelligence-taryn-southern-amper-music\">make<\/a>\u00a0music and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/10\/18\/technology\/ai-is-beginning-to-assist-novelists.html\">books<\/a>; it\u2019s scrutinizing your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2018\/03\/13\/ai-job-recruiting-tools-offered-by-hirevue-mya-other-start-ups.html\">resume<\/a>, judging your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/qz.com\/1276781\/algorithms-are-making-the-same-mistakes-assessing-credit-scores-that-humans-did-a-century-ago\/\">creditworthiness<\/a>, and tweaking the photos you take on your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2018\/10\/9\/17942550\/google-pixel-3-camera-specs-resolution-features-portrait-mode-updates\">phone<\/a>.
