Not only to \u201cread\u201d data from a whole range of objects but also to \u201cwrite\u201d data\u2014e.g.<\/em>\u00a0instructions\u2014to them. Finally, here\u2019s where the Internet of Things<\/strong> (or \u201cIoT) fits into the story!<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Internet of Things<\/strong> refers to the practice of connecting objects and devices to the internet that previously were \u201coutside\u201d of the reach of the internet. As we\u2019ve seen, until just a few years ago, the internet was constrained to basically two things: computers and then cell phones. Now, we\u2019re bringing a whole range of things online: cars, speakers (e.g.<\/em>Alexa), home devices like fridges and washing machines, city municipal infrastructure, farming equipment\u2014the list goes on.
