By Zack Whittaker<\/a> – Shipping tech giant Pitney Bowes <\/a> has confirmed a cyberattack on its systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company said in a statement<\/a> that its systems were hit by a \u201cmalware attack that encrypted information\u201d on its systems, more commonly known as ransomware<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAt this time, the company has seen no evidence that customer or employee data has been improperly accessed,\u201d the statement said, but many of its internal systems are offline, causing disruption to client services and other corporate processes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company said it\u2019s working with a third-party consultant to address the issue. But it\u2019s not immediately known what kind of ransomware<\/strong> encrypted its systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
