By Joe McKendrick<\/a> – While artificial intelligence<\/strong> is the trend du jour across enterprises of all types, there\u2019s still scant attention being paid to its ethical ramifications. Perhaps it\u2019s time for people to step up and ask the hard questions. For enterprises, it\u2019s time to bring together \u2014 or recruit \u2014 people who can ask the hard questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In one recent\u00a0survey<\/a>\u00a0by Genesys, 54% of employers questioned say they are not troubled that AI<\/strong> could be used unethically by their companies as a whole or by individual employees. \u201cEmployees appear more relaxed than their bosses, with only 17% expressing concern about their companies,\u201d the survey\u2019s authors add.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite heightened awareness about the potential risks of AI <\/strong>and highly publicized incidents of privacy violations, unintended bias, and other negative outcomes, AI<\/strong> ethics is still an afterthought, a recent McKinsey\u00a0survey<\/a>\u00a0of 2,360 executives shows. While 39% say their companies recognize risk associated with \u201cexplainability,\u201d only 21% say they are actively addressing this risk. \u201cAt the companies that reportedly do mitigate AI risks, the most frequently reported tactic is conducting internal reviews of AI<\/strong> models.\u201d Read On:<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
