The global enterprise AI market, which garnered $4.68 billion in revenues in 2018, is expected to generate $53.06 billion by 2026, according to a&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alliedmarketresearch.com\/press-release\/enterprise-artificial-intelligence-market.html\" target=\"_blank\">report by Allied Market Research<\/a>. So it\u2019s little wonder that seemingly every enterprise technology vendor wants to grab a piece of the AI pie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.pixabay.com\/photo\/2017\/08\/24\/11\/03\/time-2676366__340.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"394\" height=\"170\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>But not all <strong>AI <\/strong>solutions are what they seem. \u201c<strong>AI <\/strong>washing\u201d \u2013 the practice of touting a technology solution as <strong>AI <\/strong>when it may be no more than simple&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/enterprisersproject.com\/tags\/automation\">automation<\/a>&nbsp;or a new marketing spin for an existing application \u2013 is a real phenomenon, industry analysts say. \u201cVery few, in my opinion, are using strong <strong>AI,<\/strong>\u201d says Wayne Butterfield, director of cognitive automation and innovation at&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/isg-one.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">ISG<\/a>. \u201cWhat we need to be mindful of is that <strong>AI <\/strong>covers over 200 different disciplines, so it\u2019s not uncommon to be using a branch of AI in a tool. Some advanced analytics may now be classed as AI, even a small amount of machine learning. This means that you can be creative as a vendor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The explosive growth in the velocity, volume, and variety of data being produced by today\u2019s enterprise, along with increasing computing power and the accessibility of new tools, means more&nbsp;IT organizations are considering or deploying AI solutions to solve business problems.
