{"id":44469,"date":"2021-01-11T03:17:00","date_gmt":"2021-01-11T08:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.cybercon1.com\/?p=44469"},"modified":"2021-01-11T03:17:00","modified_gmt":"2021-01-11T08:17:00","slug":"pandemic-shifts-tech-priorities-to-workflow-automation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.cyberconservices.com\/index.php\/2021\/01\/11\/pandemic-shifts-tech-priorities-to-workflow-automation\/","title":{"rendered":"Pandemic shifts tech priorities to workflow automation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The emerging wave of procurement technology that supply chain companies are using to automate repetitive, time exhaustive tasks and manage spend are allowing procurement staff to focus on high-impact decisions instead, saving money and expanding capacity.&nbsp;Increasing workers&#8217; ability to collaborate across functions is an investment that makes working from home that much easier and more productive.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cdn.pixabay.com\/photo\/2020\/02\/28\/21\/48\/editorial-4888700__340.jpg?resize=656%2C671&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"656\" height=\"671\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2020 marked&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ciodive.com\/news\/CIO-IT-leadership-next-normal\/586515\/\">a dramatic shift in IT investment priorities<\/a>&nbsp;with the rise of remote work, but the year also impacted talent management operations over the long term. Industry analysts noted, for example, the rise of automated workflows and processes&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hrdive.com\/news\/if-covid-19-accelerates-automation-how-can-training-keep-up\/585200\/\">that accelerated during the pandemic<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Robotic process automation <\/strong>allows procurement offices to invite suppliers to showcase products without any input from an individual procurement employee.\u00a0Machine-learning tools to improve negotiations by interpreting contracts are now using prescriptive analytics to make recommendations to staff.\u00a0Technology like\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.supplychaindive.com\/news\/emerging-wave-procurement-spend-technology-RPA\/588897\/\">SourceDay&#8217;s collaboration tool<\/a>\u00a0is enabling companies to automate purchase order management and track spend. And\u00a0Maersk has developed a tool that automates contract review for more than 15,000 suppliers.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On a practical level, employees in many organizations were asked to shift to new tech platforms overnight in some cases. Nearly a year into the pandemic, however, it&#8217;s clear that transition has not always been seamless.
