{"id":46167,"date":"2021-08-30T03:55:00","date_gmt":"2021-08-30T07:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.cybercon1.com\/?p=46167"},"modified":"2021-08-30T03:55:00","modified_gmt":"2021-08-30T07:55:00","slug":"only-one-software-giant-to-make-impact-on-the-robotic-process-automation-market","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.cyberconservices.com\/index.php\/2021\/08\/30\/only-one-software-giant-to-make-impact-on-the-robotic-process-automation-market\/","title":{"rendered":"Only one software giant to make impact on the robotic process automation market"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Microsoft is set to be the only firm among the enterprise tech giants investing in <strong>robotic process automation<\/strong> (<strong>RPA<\/strong>) tools to make a significant impact, a report from Forrester claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>RPA<\/strong> market is set to be worth $2.9bn by revenue in 2021, up from $125m in 2016, while the two biggest players in the game, Automation Anywhere and UiPath, have a combined valuation of $39.2bn.&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theregister.com\/2021\/04\/22\/qualtrics_finds_profit_after_leaving\/\">UiPath<\/a>, especially, appears to have convinced investors that robotic process automation is A Thing, with a $35.8bn valuation after its recent IPO in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the total <strong>RPA <\/strong>market is still tiny compared with the enterprise application market, worth $225bn in 2029, according to IDC. Nonetheless, vendors in the bigger market are still tempted to get a slice of the action.&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theregister.com\/2021\/08\/03\/salesforce_servicetrace_acquisition\/\">Salesforce<\/a>,&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theregister.com\/2018\/11\/20\/sap_acquisition_contextor_rpa\/\">SAP<\/a>,&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theregister.com\/2020\/09\/29\/oracle_rpa_announcement\/\">Oracle<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theregister.com\/2020\/09\/23\/microsoft_bots_ahoy_as_the\/\">Microsoft<\/a>&nbsp;have all made significant investments knitting RPA into their platforms in recent years, but only the Redmond OS giant is likely to make headway, Forrester said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It predicted that two pure-play <strong>RPA <\/strong>vendors plus Blue Prism, which offers <strong>RPA<\/strong> and low-code tools, would control 32 per cent of the market by 2023, while Microsoft would command 5 per cent because it is integrating <strong>RPA<\/strong> with its Power platform, which includes low-code and self-service BI offerings and is integrated with Office and Dynamics application products.  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?rct=j&amp;sa=t&amp;url=https:\/\/www.theregister.com\/2021\/08\/19\/microsoft_rpa_winner\/&amp;ct=ga&amp;cd=CAEYAyoTMTE2MjI4MTkxOTcxNDk0MDE3NDIaODc5MTAwZmJiYzcxYjA2NDpjb206ZW46VVM&amp;usg=AFQjCNG7q_NBCqrwfRvxnfnMLAXWFOyw4w\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read On <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Microsoft is set to be the only firm among the enterprise tech giants investing in robotic process automation (RPA) tools to make a significant impact, a report from Forrester claims.
