Process mining is the next phase of Automation that Microsoft is brining forward. The ability to harvest a process template from application logs and data sets will greatly enhance the users ability to then employ RPA to automate the task. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Microsoft has announced significant advances to its Power Automate<\/strong> platform to help scale\u00a0robotic process automation (RPA<\/strong>) infrastructure<\/a>. Key advances include new capabilities for understanding business processes, collaborative bot development, and scaling RPA software bots with virtual desktops. Microsoft is a\u00a0relative latecomer to the RPA playing field<\/a>, but is growing this capability quickly \u2014 thanks to its existing strengths in office productivity apps, Windows integration, and Azure cloud infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The field of RPA <\/strong>started as a way to program sophisticated macros for automating repeating tasks like copying and pasting data between two business apps.\u00a0Gartner has suggested the future of this field<\/a>, known as\u00a0hyperautomation<\/a>, includes finding ways to identify automation opportunities and program automations, then scale the deployment of the automation more efficiently. Microsoft\u2019s newest updates tick the boxes of significant progress on all three of these aspects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
