{"id":46533,"date":"2022-03-11T03:58:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-11T08:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.cybercon1.com\/?p=46533"},"modified":"2022-03-11T03:58:00","modified_gmt":"2022-03-11T08:58:00","slug":"power-bi-platform-adds-new-data-prep-mobile-capabilities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.cyberconservices.com\/index.php\/2022\/03\/11\/power-bi-platform-adds-new-data-prep-mobile-capabilities\/","title":{"rendered":"Power BI platform adds new data prep, mobile capabilities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Among them, Dynamic M Query Parameters to support SQL Server has the potential to be particularly useful to <strong>Power BI<\/strong> platform users, according to Doug Henschen, an analyst at Constellation Research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dynamic M Query Parameters is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.techtarget.com\/searchbusinessanalytics\/feature\/Top-data-preparation-challenges-and-how-to-overcome-them\">a data preparation tool<\/a>\u00a0that enables <strong>Power BI<\/strong> users to specify the parameters of a query without having to write code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When first released, however, it only enabled connections to M-based data sources, which are data sources provided directly by Microsoft or those that were accessible through DirectQuery, such as Amazon Redshift, Snowflake and Google BigQuery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now in preview, Dynamic M Query Parameters is able to access new data sources through DirectQuery, including&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/whatis.techtarget.com\/feature\/SQL-vs-NoSQL-vs-NewSQL-How-do-they-compare\">SQL-based<\/a>&nbsp;Microsoft data sources such as SQL Server, Azure SQL Database and Azure Synapse Analytics, as well as non-Microsoft data sources such as Oracle, Teradata and the SAP HANA relational database.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Henschen called the extension of Dynamic M Query Parameters to support SQL Server and other data sources that <strong>Power BI<\/strong> did not previously support &#8220;an update of note.&#8221;  <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?rct=j&amp;sa=t&amp;url=https:\/\/searchbusinessanalytics.techtarget.com\/news\/252513765\/Power-BI-platform-adds-new-data-prep-mobile-capabilities&amp;ct=ga&amp;cd=CAEYACoUMTgxOTQwNjM3MjgwODI2MTA3ODAyGjMxYjVmYmY3MThkMmVmYWM6Y29tOmVuOlVT&amp;usg=AFQjCNFJSCHD099jU4uOP8PXY8I4VtXFsQ\" target=\"_blank\">Read On:<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Among them, Dynamic M Query Parameters to support SQL Server has the potential to be particularly useful to Power BI platform users, according to Doug Henschen, an analyst at Constellation Research.
