{"id":61570,"date":"2022-11-01T03:45:00","date_gmt":"2022-11-01T07:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.cybercon1.com\/?p=61570"},"modified":"2022-11-01T03:45:00","modified_gmt":"2022-11-01T07:45:00","slug":"nist-announces-new-internet-of-things-advisory-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.cyberconservices.com\/index.php\/2022\/11\/01\/nist-announces-new-internet-of-things-advisory-board\/","title":{"rendered":"NIST Announces New Internet of Things Advisory Board"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Seem like this should have a while ago???<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>By\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nextgov.com\/voices\/alexandra-kelley\/18507\/?oref=ng-post-author\">Alexandra Kelley<\/a> &#8211; Sixteen professionals hailing from the private and public sectors will form the<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nist.gov\/news-events\/news\/2022\/10\/us-department-commerce-appoints-members-new-internet-things-advisory-board\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0inaugural <strong>Internet of Things<\/strong> Advisory Board<\/a>\u00a0within the Department of Commerce, a body of experts whose job will be to advise the larger IoT Federal Working Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The advisory group, created pursuant to the 2021 National Defense Authorization Act, will discuss the federal regulations and policy decisions that could provide \u201csignificant and scalable\u201d <strong>IoT<\/strong> innovation and highlight opportunities where greater connectivity could provide solutions to societal problems, such as transit technology and improved supply chains.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other industries that the board will study for potential benefits from sophisticated <strong>IoT<\/strong> policies and technology include sustainable infrastructure projects, public safety and healthcare.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The advisory board\u2019s first task will be to author a report analyzing domestic impacts and potential hindrances to <strong>IoT<\/strong> in addition to any relevant international development in <strong>IoT<\/strong> tech and policy.
